Saint Cloud Regional Airport partnered with WhiteBox Marketing in 2025 for a rename and rebrand to reflect their current identity. With the history of being St. Cloud for 90 years, and since it serves people and business beyond the city and in the broader Central Minnesota area, the airport needed a new name to more accurately describe themselves.
WhiteBox Marketing developed a new name through extensive research, testing, and iterations: Sky Central Airport. “With the airport being the central hub for our region’s aviation activities, being located in Central Minnesota and also in the center of the country, Sky Central Airport is the perfect way to describe it,” said Brian Myres, chair of the Saint Cloud Regional Airport Authority. With many important things staying the same (like the airport’s 3-letter international code, “STC”), the new name offers expanded opportunities for growth.
The new name is paired with a new logo and full brand identity to carry the mission of Sky Central Airport. This modern logo option is meant to showcase the upward momentum that is felt with the name Sky Central. Fully focused on keeping flying simple, this logo is serene while using angular elements that point upward to showcase the calming feeling that comes with choosing Sky Central Airport. The lines coming together can also loosely signify the different counties that unite to represent the airport and its affiliates. The colors used are reminiscent of the airport’s previous blue color (just modernized), and the addition of the green creates a positive, calming effect.
WhiteBox Marketing also developed the new tagline for Sky Central Airport: Flying Kept Simple. This message continues to position the airport as the convenient, central hub for flying.
